AMN Healthcare Services, Inc. released their financial results for the first quarter of the year yesterday. Despite bringing in lower revenue than the same quarter last year, the healthcare staffing giant also reported a modest gain in profit.
Earnings for Q1 2014 were four percent lower than Q1 2013 due to a decrease in allied health staffing but offset in part by permanent placement and locum tenens assignments. AMN posted a $74 million gross profit, one percent higher than last year’s profit. Interest and income per diluted share remained substantially unchanged from the same quarter last year and only marginally lower than the end of the last quarter reported.
According to their press release, AMN expects to improve their revenue this quarter by as much as $8 million with a similar gross margin.
